In my first article on Astrology' A Suggestive Enquiry into Astrology' (back in July), to provide a solid grounding on Astrology's background, we discussed Astrology' A Controversial Subject' - its Roots, Origin, and History.
Today we look at the Horoscope The Natal Wheel - Birth Chart, the foundation for a Personal Astrology Reading.
We will examine the Basic Structure of the Wheel, The Core Aspects, as
understood in Astrology. Broken down into four parts, shown below, I will discuss the Core Aspects over a series of weekly articles.
Part One Introduction: What is a Horoscope Natal Wheel?
The Horizon Line, Midheaven Point, and Hemispheres Aspects
Part Two The Astrology Houses
Part Three The Planet Aspects
So let's
begin. What is a Horoscope Natal Wheel?
Introduction
If you have ever had a Natal Wheel calculated for you as part of your
Horoscope reading, what I am about to cover is likely to sound familiar. However,
for those who haven't or may contemplate having a Reading, I am confident you
will find the following exciting and intriguing.
The Horoscope Natal Wheel is a meticulous calculation. It is the sky's
cosmic arrangement precisely when we are born, through the Planets and Stars'
eyes.
Seen from the point of the earth where we were born, it is a map drawn
up, based upon the position of the Sun, Moon, Planets, Nodes, and Houses, at
the very moment of our birth.
In the world of Astrology, our Horoscope Natal Wheel (Birth Chart) is
our personal cosmic fingerprint (DNA). No other person will have the same. No
other individual will have the same combination of influences. Like the genes
that determine our body and temperament, our Natal Wheel comprises the same necessary
parts that other humans have, but these parts' arrangement is uniquely our own.
Therefore, to narrow our focus of attention, we will only be looking at the essential core planetary aspects central to what constitutes our character. Why? Mainly because these are the significant players that are considered in Astrology to orchestrate our life.
The Basic Structure of the Horoscope Natal Wheel
The Core Aspects in Astrology
The Horizon Line
Above, the top half of the horizontal line represents our Conscious level, which I
refer to as the Extrovert Personality Indicator (EPI).
Commonly throughout Astrology, this is known to reflect whether we are a
public person (i.e., outgoing in our approach to life, whether we show more of
ourselves to the outside world than we keep hidden).
Below, the bottom half of the horizontal line represents our Subconscious level;
the Introvert Personality Indicator (IPI) reflects whether we are a private
person (i.e., more inward in our approach to life - hide more than we to show
to the outer world).
The Personality Indicator of Introvert or Extrovert is dependent on
where most planets' placements fall, either above or below the Horizontal line. For instance, looking at Fig 1. the majority
of planets are found Above the Horizontal line. So, this person is the Extrovert type.
The Midheaven Point
Referred to
as the highest point at the top of our chart-Southernmost high point above the
horizon line; the Midheaven Point is also called the Medium Coli or MC for
short (See Fig 1. the vertical line).
The Midheaven point is in the cusp of the Natal Chart's 10th house, and
the corresponding sign is next to it.
The Midheaven gives clues to our social standing, career goals, and aspirations. It is our reputation in the eyes of society and the ways we go about earning it.
Capricorn.
Hemispheric Divisions
The Natal Wheel has four main Hemispheric Divisions - Northern,
Southern, Eastern, and Western (as shown in the above diagram, Fig 2).
Astrologers like me base our interpretations upon the Planets' placements, where the majority of Planets' fall - configurations.
For example, looking at our Natal Wheel Fig 1. and cross-referencing it
with Fig 2. we find:
There is an emphasis in the Northern Hemisphere of six planets (between Houses 1-6) .
Also, an equal-weight of planet placement is in the Eastern Hemisphere of five planets (between houses 3-10).
Further, there is an equal planet placement in the Western Hemisphere of five planets (between Houses 4-9).
With the planets' locations identified, the interpretation of the Hemispheres is now made possible.
Next week, Part Two - the Horoscope Natal
Wheel (The Core Aspects continued 'The Astrology Houses.')
Stay tuned, and thanks for signing in.
