Astrology - A brief Backdrop
A Science and Art
Over thousands of years, dating as far back as the Babylonian times around 3,000 BC, we have looked to the stars to make sense of our very existence, seeking answers to what is happening in our lives and why and for understanding the complexities of human nature.
The Babylonians, Ancient China, Ancient Egypt, Old India, Greeks, and Romans all used the stars as a calendar, compass, and way to measure something and or as a source of divine communication.
Astrologers believed the cosmos as having a supernatural, metaphysical, and divine essence that actively influences world events and personal lives. Put another way, the stars' position (planets) directly affect, if not determine, our personality and future.
So in effect, Astrology has played a significant role in creating the very foundation our world stands upon and has shaped our roots - our belief system and society today.
This is why Astrology is essential. It is viewed by many past and present as a great doorway to incredible knowledge to understand ourselves and live a successful and fulfilling life.
What lies at the core of Astrology is the Horoscope Natal Wheel (Birth Chart), a map of the space surrounding us at the time, date, and place we were born, exactly where the stars (planets) were and their influences. It is our personal cosmic fingerprint (DNA), and no other person will have the same.

2020 – An Introduction To The Horoscope Natal Wheel (Birth Chart)
In 2020, under the Basic Structure of the Natal Wheel (Part I), Core Aspects, we looked at The Horizon Line, Midheaven Point and Hemispheres. Under Part II, we discussed the Twelve Houses Aspects.
Astrology's strong point is its ability to uncover areas where cosmic energies support myriad possibilities; in moving on, I will now be running a series of short bi-weekly articles on the individual planets. What they represent and their specific influences on our lives - the underlying interpretation tone they exemplify.

A Guide to Understanding The Planet Aspects In Astrology
Introduction
On the most basic level, astrology is about a symbolic
relationship between the planets and ourselves.
Planets show WHAT
The planets deal first and foremost with energies and basic human drives or urge and principles in the unconscious.
The Planet Grouping: Luminaries, Inner and The Outer Planets
The luminaries and the inner planets "move" comparatively quickly from sign to sign. They affect us on a personal, intimate level and have more of an influence over our day-to-day, shorter-term issues.
Jupiter and Saturn are known as the "social planets" and govern areas of our lives that relate to interpersonal issues. Some astrologers tend to categorise these two as either inner or outer planets.
Finally, the "OUTER PLANETS" include Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto. These move more slowly through the zodiac chart. They influence the larger, more grand-scheme parts of our life, self and society as a whole. Taking seven years or more to move through the zodiac explains why a precise movement or feeling can recognise age groups.
Note
Another interesting point here is there are also what is known as the “Benefic and Malefic” planets. The “Benefic” Planets
When someone refers to a planet as "benefic," it refers to their association with bringing excellent vibes (Jupiter and Venus are known as “benefics”).
The "Malefic" Planets
On the contrary, "Malefic" planets, such as Saturn and Mars, are known for having stronger, more negative energy.
Planet Expression

Planets express themselves with different qualities in the twelve signs of the zodiac and the twelve houses dictating how planets and zodiac signs interact and the forces at work that exist between them. For example, their positions in the houses indicating what sort of relationships or occupations we'll have. But, usually, they reveal where we will focus most of our energy. They tell us about the parts of our lives they denote - whether filled with harmony or difficulty.
So, each planet represents a different set of merits and features and rules over a different part of our lives - each bringing their unique vibes and commands with them. We can think of the planets as characters, each with a different purpose, interests, and roles.
In our Horoscope Natal Wheel (Birth Chart) we all have the same ten major planets. But based on the zodiac sign location and house, the planets express themselves differently. Also, to truly understand (interpret) the influence a planet has within a house, the interpretation looks at the number of planets in a house, their proximity to each other, and additional considerations (i.e., the lack of planet positioning in a house or no planets).
We can slowly develop a story about a Horoscope Natal Wheel (Birth Chart) through the Planet aspects - they give profound and insightful information.
Learning the basics – A general overview
In my next article, we commence a journey through the galaxy to get to know each of these significant players at the root level.
We will decode each planet, what they symbolise, their meaning in astrology - their energy, dynamics within them, and importance and role.
What will be uncovered and learned can be used as a great starting point to get a better sense of the planets' deeper connections and interpret the Astrology Natal Chart (Birth Wheel)?
Stay tuned - The Planet Aspects: The Sun (the most powerful of all the planetary figures at play).
I look forward to our next catch up.
