One of the fundamental components of Astrology is that of planetary aspects

The symbolic relationship between the planets and ourselves is profound and insightful, signifying our basic unconscious drives.

Their significance is dependant on their various positions (locations) in the Astrology Natal Wheel (Birth Chart). They show themselves with different qualities in the twelve signs of the Natal Wheel and the twelve houses. They dictate how they and zodiac signs interact, showing the inter-relating forces at play that exists between them. These celestial bodies reveal whether the relationship (the parts of our lives they symbolise) will be one filled with accord or discord.

Previously, The Planet Aspects MERCURY: (the innermost planet and the smallest place of our Solar System, yet the ‘messenger of the gods’). Mercury is the transmitter of the chart. Mercury colours the planets’ aspects with a desire to communicate and exchange information. Astrologically speaking, it governs transmitting material. This heavenly body is all about transmission, expression, reason (logic-rationality) and intellect. It characterises our mode of communication and affects how we communicate and share information.

Introduction

VENUS, ‘BENEFIC’ IS NEVER MORE THAN 45 DEGREES AWAY FROM THE SUN

Venus's energy is pleasant, charming, harmonious, somewhat indulgent, sensual and affectionate. Because ‘her’ energy is harmonious, people with Venus prominent in their charts are often peace-makers.

Venus is a drawing in energy. It prefers to attract what it wants to itself instead of overtly going after it.

The feminine planet, Goddess of Love, Venus, governs love and beauty. Planet producing semen, Venus affects our sense organs. ‘She’ produces attraction between the sexes. In ‘her,’ we find the need to be appreciated and to appreciate.

Significant Features (Fundamental Essence)

It is in beautiful Venus we look to see all about our relationships, how we approach relationships of the heart, what gives us pleasure and our particular style of relating to other people in general? These other people may be friends or significant others such as spouses.

‘Her charge’ is everything associated with love, attraction and socialising. ‘She’ rules love affairs, romance, beauty, desire, pleasure, luxury, sensuality and charm - the ‘delicious.’

Controlling our sentiments, Venus directs attachments to others, both the ability to attract and attraction to others (and things). Venus resides over what we value and the pleasure we take in life

Through Venus, we come to understand our tastes, pleasures, artistic inclinations, and what makes us happy. Venus’s highbrow tastes and her poet nature with the composition of tact and sophistication are essential. ‘She’ reflects our elegance, socialism, artistry, interest in art, music-singing/instruments, painting, acting (entertainment) and culture. ‘Her’ romantic sensibilities reveal to us our idealised perception of love.

Venus is all about the way we love, how we determine value, and the ways we experience (and indulge in) sensual pleasure and luxury.

Further, this extraordinary planet embodies special effects over our eyes and hair in the body and is extremely important in our body’s beauty. Astrologers analyse the natal chart and the beauty of a person from the position of planet Venus. Planet of beauty Venus also has remarkable effects in textiles and embellishments’, make-up and fun.

Another facet of this beguiling celestial body is it epitomises money, possessions and what we value highly. Including what we spend our money on, the types of presents we buy, and the amount we pay out on entertainment and relaxation (not to mention the kinds of leisure activities we seek out). Specifically the money we spend more frivolously on things that bring us pleasure and joy. Corresponding with this influence, Venus has the reputation of being the casual planet associated with gold, silver, prosperity and wealth.

Among her many attributes, Venus decrees our unique talent and dictates our truthful and honourable side. Is it any wonder marvelous Venus exemplifies our Self-esteem?

‘She’ is the planet of material goodies and sensual delights in all of their various forms. Venus is the factor of all pleasures driving the measure of pleasure that comes into our lives. ‘She is indeed the Valentine’s Day and the honeymoon of the planets.

Venus’s position in our natal chart

BY SIGN determines how we give and receive love, and it’s where we find comfort and support within ourselves and others. In understanding our Venus sign, we open ourselves up to genuinely fulfilling relationships because we’re able to articulate what we need and give what our loved ones need.

It also shows our attitude towards money, how we spend it, use it or feel about it and our unique talent, which area of life this talent will manifest.

BY HOUSE Venus says that relationships play a role. According to the house affairs where ‘she’ is placed, where beautiful conditions exist or where we can enjoy fashioning lovely circumstances. Reflected also in the area of life whereby undesirable consequences are likely if we take things for granted.

Further, Venus’s placement shows which areas of life we seek to balance, refine, and derive pleasure.

To sum up

When we are “enacting out” our Venus positively, we are prepared to compromise, make peace, are loving, and do with taste. Negatively, we can be decadent, self-centered, vain, shallow and phony (superficial).

Upon concluding our journey around Venus, I close again with an evocative description that aptly becomes this exquisite solar body.

“I am the creator of love, lover, and responder to the sentiments of love, delightful, swoon-worthy, and happiest most when indulging and luxuriating. My Venus’s Venusian spirit loves to love and immerse in the world’s aestheticism and beauty."

Our next engagement, ‘pit stop’ planet Mars, until then cheerio.

Note
In the past, Astrologers have interpreted the position and condition of Venus in the natal chart by gender. However, today, generally, there is no gender bias attached to Venus.

When not favourable, the planet Venus can cause blood decay like caries, phlegm, urinary disease, semen disorder deficiency in sexual intercourse, and excessive sickness.
